Vekarit is on a headland in the River Ounas, virtually surrounded by water. Situated only a few metres from the river, it is the perfect place for boating and fishing.

Safaris, excursions and events are arranged in the Rovaniemi region at all times of the year. The nearby fells have excellent potential for downhill and cross-country skiing in winter, for hiking and numerous outdoor activities in summer.
